Many college students go through the motions while they are in school. They go to class, do their homework, do an internship, and then graduate. Which very often can be enough. There are however, other students who go above and beyond to do more to further their education beyond what is required of them in the classroom.

Tim Simpson and Corey Brewer are two juniors from the New England School of Communications, who have found, and help creat a podcast entitled, "The Slide'N Catch," that airs live on-air, twice a week.

Simpson and Brewer have recruited talent for their show from all the majors of NEScom. Their producer, sophomore Jesse Larkin, is a radio broadcasting major, and is vital to how the show operates. They have junior Nate Hart, a skilled audio engineer major, who ensures the show streams to the net with crisp sound quality. Last but not least, freshmen web media student Devin McKusic set up the website for the show, as well as Twitter and Facebook accounts.

All the members of the show are receiving valuable experience while working on this show, as well as having a good time. McKusic appreciates both of these aspects. "I have a blast working on the show. I get to do what I enjoy while I hangout with my friends and produce something productive for others to enjoy," McKusic says, "This experience strongly benefits my college experience because I'm receiving real world experience. Many will agree that anyone can learn everything they need to know in the classroom. But its when you apply it to the real world, thats when it counts."

The topics that are covered on the show is extensive. Brewer and Simpson discuss the four major sports, as well as any relevant stories that formulate in other areas of the sports universe. Towards the end of every show, listeners can tweet at them or send them questions they have about a particular subject.

Both Brewer and Simpson spend a significant amount of their time watching shows on ESPN, football, baseball, basketball, and any other sporting events that are on TV. They are certainly two of the top minds on the Husson campus when it comes to the wide world of sports.

The show is broadcast live from Nate Hart's dorm room in Bell Hall on Husson's campus. "The Slide'N Catch" airs every Tuesday and Thursday night like clockwork, and only on extended vacations do the boys miss their shows or take time off.
