HUSSON -- The Husson men finished their season on Saturday with a blowout win over Johnson State 90-58. Husson came into the final weekend of the season as the four seed and could not improve their seeding before entering the North Atlantic Conference Tournament. Colby-Sawyer sits atop the NAC Standings, while Castleton State is in second and UMaine-Farmington in third. With two solid wins this weekend over Lyndon and Johnson State, Husson heads into the playoffs as the four seed. The Eagles will take on Thomas College at home on Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the NAC tournament. Thomas is seeded fifth.
The Eagles had a remarkable end of the season winning nine of their last ten games. Husson finished with a 13-5 record in the conference and 14-11 overall.
Thomas College ends the season with a 11-7 conference record and a 14-10 overall record, capping their season with a 83-77 overtime win over UMaine-Farmington.
The Eagles won both games against Thomas this season, winning on the road 82-72 on January 21st and at home 77-70 on January tenth. Junior Guard Jarrad DeVaughn led Thomas with 17 points in the first game and sophomore center Martin Cleveland led Thomas with 24 points in the second game. Daeshawn McMorrin led the Eagles in both games scoring 22 points in the first game and 21 in the second.
Tip-off is scheduled for Tuesday night at Newman Gymnasium starting at 7:30.
